A doula or doulo is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a family before, during and shortly after childbirth to help them achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible. A doulo is not a medical professional and does not take over the role of the partner.
Healthy Start doula services include:
- 2 Prenatal sessions to discuss childbirth education and birth planning
- 3 weeks of 24/7 on-call services beginning at 37 weeks gestation
- Complete labor, birth and short term postpartum support for birthing person
- 2 postpartum sessions to support recovery, breastfeeding, mental health 8 much more
