A Better Choice
Helps participants learn how to define domestic abuse, identify its various forms (eg., physical, psychological, sexual and economic abuse), understand how it affects adult and child witnesses and survivors, recognize that violence is a choice, and identify respectful ways of communicating. Eight-class series ($200 due at time of registration).
Active Parenting for Stepfamilies
Active Parenting for Stepfamilies is a six-class series Parenting Education course. This course is designed for stepparents wanting to be involved role models in their stepchildren’s lives while also building relationships and respecting the boundaries already in place within the family unit. It is recommended that both parents attend but is not required. Fee of $35 due upon registration.
These Community Education classes are funded by a PACT United Grant from United Way of Acadiana.
Anger Choices
Helps participants learn how to reduce and eliminate self-defeating and angry reactions. In these sessions, the participant will explore what defines anger and how to choose reactions that are less harmful to self and others. Six-class series ($150 due at time of registration) Individual sessions available upon request.
Preteen Anger Choices
Preteen Anger Choices is a three-class series Anger Management Course designed to teach Mindfulness and Emotional Regulation through Compassion Based Therapy. The class will teach individuals to manage anger in a productive manner to make sound choices while they are experiencing the emotion that is anger. The course is suggested for participants to be between the ages of 10-12 years of age. Fee of $35 due upon registration.

Best Moms
This 6-week course will explore topics such as child growth, parent/child communication skills, positive discipline, helping children develop positive self-esteem, and dealing with stress. Cost: Fee of $35 due upon registration.
Best Dads
This 6-week course will explore topics such as discipline and creative play, fathering sons and daughters, teamwork with spouse and co-parent, communication and problem-solving, and balancing work and fathering. Cost: Fee of $35 due upon registration.

Postpartum Support Group
This is a support group for Healthy Start moms who have welcomed a new child within the last 4 months. This group is for you if you are dealing with the stress of adjusting to a new baby, experiencing the Baby Blues or wondering if you have postpartum depression or anxiety. This group invites you to connect with other new moms, talk about your experience with a new baby and learn about helpful tools and resources. Groups are offered online. Cost: FREE

TransParenting
TransParenting is a one time, 4-hour parent seminar designed to teach effective parenting during the transitions of divorce or parental separation. It impresses upon parents the critical role they play in their child’s ability to adjust to changes surrounding divorce. The seminar emphasizes each parent’s responsibility to provide a nurturing non-threatening environment for their child(ren). Topics include: feelings associated with divorce, ways that children of different ages react during transition, parenting approaches that benefit your children, suggested ways for talking to children about divorce, and other adjustments children may make. This is an educational program and not a counseling session. Parents will not be expected to discuss personal problems. Children do NOT attend. Fee is $100 for one-time class.

Scheduling Policy
We understand that situations arise that could force you to reschedule or cancel a class.
For TransParenting Classes: You are allowed to reschedule a class once. A $10 processing fee will be charged for all transfer requests and cancellations prior to the registered class date. If attendance is not fulfilled after the first rescheduling, you will forfeit your spot in the class as well as your payment for the class. Clients who “no show” will forfeit the $75 class fee.
Certificate reprint: A $10 processing fee will be charged to reprint a certificate for verification of attendance.
