2010 FIMR Report (warning file size exceeds 9 Meg)

The goal of this statewide initiative is to improve maternal, fetal, infant and child mortality and morbidity rates by providing regional leadership via surveillance, monitoring and preventive programs of the Maternal Child Health Program of the Louisiana Office of Public Health.

Cases are carefully reviewed to identify the factors that contributed to a maternal, fetal or child death in the Acadiana community. Preventive initiatives are then discussed by a diverse community action team, translating recommendations into action through strategies that raise community awareness, provide educational messages and optimize community services.

The program gives a voice to our community’s lost mothers, babies and children in order to secure a healthier future for our families.
